terms
Terms of use, briefly
The short version: it is free to use today, be sensible, your work stays yours, and points are never grades.
Who can use it
The notes, the map, and the simulators are open to everyone, no account needed. Class features (quizzes, points, the journal, practice, the arcade) are for students in a participating class, joining with a code from their teacher.
Class accounts exist only through a participating teacher or school. The app is built for IB Diploma Programme classes, whose students are typically 16 to 19. A teacher or school that introduces it to a class is responsible for doing so within its own policies and local rules for classroom tools, including informing parents where that is required.
Your account, and acceptable use
Keep your sign-in to yourself. The name on an account is the name you use in class: a first name or a nickname is fine; a full name, yours or anyone else’s, is not. Names must be school-appropriate, and teachers approve them. Do not try to get into another person’s account, share your class code outside the class, work around the usage limits, upload harmful material, put personal information about another person into the app, or interfere with the service. A teacher can remove an account from their class at any time.
Your work
What you write and draw here stays yours. By submitting it you give EduCS a limited permission to store it, back it up, process it (including through the AI feedback features you or your teacher choose to use), and show it to you and your teacher. That permission exists only so the features can function, and it ends when the work is deleted, subject to the 14-day backup cycle described in the privacy page. Keep personal details, yours or anyone else’s, out of posts and answers; the app is built so it never needs them.
EduCS materials
The notes, questions, simulators, and artwork are the author’s own work. Teachers and students are welcome to use them for classroom learning. Republishing them, selling them, or building them into another product needs permission first; ask via the contact page.
Points, gear, and streaks
They are motivation, not currency and not assessment. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, and never buy grades or access to content. There are no point deductions in normal play; if an award is ever wrong and needs correcting, the correction is visible, never silent.
The service
EduCS is currently provided without charge, as it is. Features evolve, content keeps being added, and things occasionally move as the course grows. Outages are taken seriously, but uninterrupted availability is not promised.
Independence
EduCS is an independent educational resource. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the International Baccalaureate Organization.
