for schools
Teaching notes and hands-on practice for IB Computer Science classes. Teachers can look over their students’ work and see how each of them is getting on. The programming practice uses Java.
Teachers receive an account and a step-by-step guide to setting up their class. You and your students can report problems and suggest improvements through the app.
Signed in to EduCS, pilot teachers can also open the teacher guides on educs.me, with lesson plans and answer keys, without an access code.
The app runs in a web browser on school computers. Your school can leave the pilot at any time and request the removal of student accounts and learning records.
The class page shows where each student is in every topic, and starts each week with up to three notices to follow up, each with one next step.
The plan puts Logic in week 6. Recent answers are in CPU and Data.
Review the class plan3 of the 5 students who have answered correctly are at the same point in Loops.
Set a short quest2 students reached Secure in Data this week.
See who, in Learning progressAn example class with made-up students.
Students join with a class code and the name they use in class, never their full name. They do not need an email address or phone number. Teachers control access to their students’ work.
AI features start switched off for pilot classes. We enable them by agreement with your school.
A note on how student information is handled can be shared with your school, and a data-processing agreement can be discussed if needed.
It is built and run by the EduCS team, founded and led by a computer science educator who also writes the teaching resources at educs.me. The founder has close to two decades of experience teaching technology subjects in international schools across Asia.
The pilot is free, and the teaching resources at educs.me will remain free for everyone. AI features are an optional extra: they start switched off, and if your school would like them, we agree any cost together with the data-processing agreement. Nothing has been decided about pricing after the pilot. Pilot schools will hear well before anything changes, and can leave the pilot at any time.
To ask about EduCS or joining the pilot, email pete@educs.me or use the contact page on educs.me.
