Accessibility

Every page starts with a skip-to-content link. Core navigation, joining a class, the practice surfaces, and account tasks are designed to work with a keyboard, with visible focus outlines. Colour contrast is checked in both the light and dark themes, and every animation on the site respects the reduced-motion setting in your system preferences.

Automated checks (the axe engine, running the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 A and AA rulesets) sweep the site’s public and class surfaces in both themes before each release, and any automated violation blocks the release. Automated checks catch only part of what the guidelines ask for, so they are supplemented by manual keyboard passes on the core flows; they are not, by themselves, a claim of full WCAG conformance. The current skill map is a 3D scene and is not accessible to screen readers. That is why the skill tree exists: the same course presented as a flat, keyboard-navigable chart. If the 3D map does not work for you or your device, the tree is the intended way in, not a lesser one.

The simulators are visual by nature. Each one links to written notes on educs.me that explain the same idea in plain text; the notes carry the theory, though they do not reproduce every interactive feature of the simulator itself.

Some arcade games run against the clock, because speed of recall is the point of those particular games. They are optional extras: nothing required for the course runs on a timer, and the practice surfaces that matter for assessment preparation (the Practice Tutor and the Mark-Scheme Builder) are untimed.
