Student accounts use a join code from the teacher and the name you use in class: a first name or a nickname is fine, a full name never is. We ask for as little personal information as we can. Your account is linked to your class name, so your teacher knows which student it belongs to.

Keep faces, names and personal documents out of anything you upload, such as a drawing or a screenshot.

The app keeps your class work and learning activity, such as your answers, notes, journal posts and feedback, along with records of how the app is used, so that it can run, be supported and get better. These records are stored on servers we manage. Backup copies are kept for a limited time so the app can recover from a failure. When something goes wrong, an error report helps us fix it, and we keep personal information out of these reports as far as we can. Notifications in the app stay for a limited time, and anything that needs someone to act stays until it is handled. Emails about a student’s work give the class’s name only, and the student’s name appears once the teacher signs in.

You and your teachers can see your class work. Your teacher controls who else can see it, including what is shown to the class during a lesson. Notes you write for yourself are kept for you. There are no public profiles. Some companies help us run the app, and each receives what its part of the service needs.

Some features send your work to an outside AI provider to give you feedback, under an agreement that protects what is sent. We send what the feature needs to work. Text you write can still contain personal information, so keep it to your work. AI feedback is kept so you and your teacher can look back at it. More is on the AI and feedback page.

The app uses only essential cookies, such as those that keep you signed in and remember your choices. There is no advertising.

You can download a copy of your work from your account. You or your teacher can ask for your account to be removed, and your teacher can remove it. Removing an account removes its learning records, and backup copies expire after a limited time. A class’s records stay until its teacher removes the class. The EduCS team runs the app. The about page on educs.me says who is behind it. For class accounts, the school that introduces the app also decides how it is used there. Questions, and requests to see, correct or delete information, go through your teacher or the contact page, and we are glad to explain anything on this page in more detail.
